Welcome from Feralpunk

Well, I've been going through all my old tapes and records, and slowly digitizing all the stuff that's either a bootleg of a gig, an old demo or just no longer available. I was occasionally sharing it in other forums and blogs but, largely inspired by the most excellent New Improved Live And Otherwise blog thought I would start my own up as a central place to share by obscurities with the world.
The name of the blog is the name of the metal/punk/industrial night I used to run at the Egypt Cottage in Newcastle, resurrected here for old time's sake.
Feel free to repost anything you find or to ask for a re-up if the link has gone dead.
Also feel free to leave any comments you may have about the music or the blog.

Mountain - Knebworth Park, 22/6/85


The 2nd band of the day, I think this was a special re-union gig for them, 2 years after the tragic death of founder member Felix Pappalardi.

The sound craps out for a second during the 2nd track, reception issues in the small village I grew up in.

Also, I'm by no means certain of a couple of the track titles, so feel free to let me know if I got 'em wrong!

    thanks for your effort to 'park' these recordings you made off of the radio in the 80's...i'd never heard of a 'mountain at knebworth' before and then it's an FM source on top of it. plus a scan of the festival poster and some photos too.
    i've seen mountain/leslie west play prob probably a good 10 times and enjoy hearing things from early on in his career, when he still sang full-bore. i do wish this slot at this fest alowed for a longer set though...a 4 and 1/2 minute nantucket sleighride? prob the shortest version ever. but hey.. :)

    ...ah, sleighride goes right into 'guitar jam' (@ 5:50, i'm listening on the pc right now) and like you said you weren't overly familiar with titles and such - this was normal for mountain to expand sleighride to something 'huge' this way with medleys of riffs from every source he could think to play...but i can always forgive leslie west his indulgences.;)
